The A251 Ashford Road near Faversham was earlier blocked in both directions after a tree fell onto power lines, causing significant traffic delays. The road has since been cleared, and traffic is moving normally.
The obstruction occurred around 12:50 pm, when a tree came down onto power cables between Old Badgins Road (Sheldwich) and Bagshill Road (Badlesmere Lees). Kent Police officers were at the scene to assist with traffic control and safety management.
By approximately 2:45 pm, the fallen tree and debris were fully removed, allowing vehicles to pass through again. The traffic monitoring site Inrix confirmed that the A251 had reopened and congestion eased shortly afterwards.
