Drew Barrymore Calls Famous Ex Live On-Air — And It Doesn't Go As Planned
On a recent episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show,” Drew Barrymore attempted to call her famous ex-boyfriend, Luke Wilson, during a segment with guest Vince Gilligan, the creator of “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul.” Both Barrymore and Wilson starred in Home Fries, which Gilligan wrote the screenplay for.
When Barrymore dialed Wilson live, he did not answer. She remarked,
“This is not going the way I planned, but, what does in life, right?”
Barrymore left a heartfelt message on his voicemail:
“We were just talking about you, and we’re sending you love. Can you believe ‘Home Fries’ was 27 years ago now?! I know this is just a voicemail, but I love you, I’m sending you love, and I’m here with Vince on the show, and we’re thinking about you.”
Fortunately, Wilson called back and explained pleasantly,
“Sorry, I was taking my trash cans out.”
The three then shared warm memories, with Barrymore recalling a special moment from her relationship with Wilson, whom she dated from 1996 to 1998.
