Richard “Rick” Frank Lafferty Jr., 72, a longtime Murfreesboro, TN resident, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Funeral and Visitation
The funeral service will take place on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home, officiated by Brandon Cochran. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. Visitation is scheduled for the same day from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is managing the arrangements.
Life and Career
Rick was born in Buffalo, NY, on May 26, 1953, to the late Margaret Lafferty and Richard Lafferty Sr. He honorably served in the US Army from 1971 to 1974. After his military service, he pursued a career as a truck driver, spending 47 years driving millions of miles, mainly hauling automobiles. Throughout much of his career and beyond, Rick was a proud and dedicated Teamster.

- Grandchildren: Briley, Charlie, and Reagan
- Sisters: Susan (Joe) Smith, Colleen (David) Franz, and Mary Lafferty
- Numerous loving sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews
In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his son Cody Lafferty and granddaughter Kaylee Lafferty.
