Armed police and a dog unit were deployed to a residential estate following reports that a man was making threats to kill. The incident took place in Davington, Faversham.
At least 10 officers were seen arresting a suspect last night. Footage provided by local business Lotty’s Flowers shows police initially attempting to access a block of flats in Breeze Meadow shortly after 8:30 pm.
The man can be seen leaving the estate, running toward the junction with Western Link, near Sainsbury’s, with his hands above his head. Two armed officers then apprehend him, shouting:
“Stay there - armed police. Get down on the floor.”
Additional officers, including dog handlers, arrived on the scene. A police car pulled up before the man was detained.
Kent Police confirmed that a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of several offences. Two knives were recovered during the incident.
A spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called just after 8.30pm on Friday to reports of a disturbance at a property in Breeze Meadow.”
