Timothee Chalamet disappointed not to win Oscar

Timothée Chalamet Opens Up About Oscar Disappointment

Timothée Chalamet expressed his disappointment after not winning the Best Actor Oscar this year. The 29-year-old actor was nominated for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, but the award went to Adrien Brody for The Brutalist.

Chalamet, who also lost the same award in 2017 to Gary Oldman for Darkest Hour, shared his honest feelings with Vogue magazine, saying:

“If there’s five people at an awards show, and four people go home losing you don’t think those four people are at the restaurant like, ‘Damn, we didn’t win’? I’ve been around some deeply generous, no-ego actors, and maybe some of them are going, ‘That was fun.’ But I know for a fact a lot of them are going, ‘F***.’”

He added, “People can call me a try-hard, and they can say whatever the f***. But I’m the one actually doing it here.”

Recognition Despite Oscar Loss

Although he missed the Academy Award, Timothée won the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award for Best Leading Actor for the same role. During his acceptance speech, he expressed his ambition:

“I know the classiest thing would be to downplay the effort that went into this role and how much it means to me, but the truth is, this was five-and-a-half years of my life, I poured everything I had into playing this incomparable artist, Mr.”

Summary

Timothée Chalamet openly shared his frustration over missing the Oscar but took pride in his hard work and SAG recognition, aiming to become one of the greats in acting.
