After a challenging road loss to undefeated Harvard, Dartmouth Big Green prepares to host the Princeton Tigers in a tough matchup this Saturday. The team is eager to regain momentum after falling 31-10 to Harvard's high-powered offense and staunch defense.
Despite the defeat, Dartmouth showed promise during a spirited third-quarter fight. Head coach Sammy McCorkle highlighted the team's halftime effort:
“We came out of halftime and really battled and put ourselves right back in the game. But they just out-executed us and we didn’t make enough plays when we did get that momentum going … We talked about it at halftime. Just go out there and take one play at a time, and let’s make sure we just do what we do. I think we did that in the third quarter.”
Chris Corbo ’26, a 2024 All-Ivy First Team tight end, reflected on the offense’s performance:
“We showed that when we play at our best we can execute against anyone. We came out of halftime with a purpose.”
Defensive end Joshua Johnson ’27 acknowledged the team’s increased quarterback pressure and aims to continue that intensity against Princeton:
“With that game, specifically the pressure, we continued to put on the quarterback [which] was a huge thing.”
Dartmouth hopes to carry these positive takeaways forward to break their losing streak and compete strongly on Saturday.
