Ken Jennings Returns to His Home Turf to Promote a New Puzzle Book

Ken Jennings, host of the television quiz show “Jeopardy!” and former University of Washington student, recently entertained a large audience while promoting his latest puzzle collection. The event took place at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park, where Jennings signed copies of his new work.

From Contestant to Host

“Jeopardy!” has long held a place among TV’s most popular programs, attracting more than five million viewers nightly. Jennings, known for his intelligence and friendly charm, first captivated the nation as a contestant over twenty years ago, winning 74 consecutive games and becoming the highest-earning American game show competitor.

“He not only dazzled with his success as a contestant but also drew significant media attention and boosted viewership.”

Following the death of longtime host Alex Trebek in 2020, Jennings was selected to carry on the role, continuing the show’s legacy with his characteristic wit and poise.

Roots and Education

Born in Edmonds, Washington, Jennings spent much of his youth in South Korea and Singapore before returning to the U.S. He studied at the University of Washington for two years before leaving on a church mission to Spain and later completing his education at Brigham Young University. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jennings also worked as a computer programmer before his television career began.

New Book and Continuing Passion

Aside from his television success, Jennings has built a reputation as an author. His newest release, The Complete Kennections: 5,000 Questions in 1,000 Puzzles, marks his first new trivia book in over a decade. The local event in August drew fans eager to meet him and explore his fresh take on brain-teasing challenges.

Author’s Summary: Ken Jennings, beloved “Jeopardy!” host and UW alumnus, celebrated his return home by engaging fans and showcasing his first puzzle book in more than ten years.
