Grimes, the musician Claire Elise Boucher and ex-partner of Elon Musk, has expressed serious concerns about the impact of AI technology on children. She criticized Musk, who integrates AI extensively into his social media platform X, for promoting what she considers a significant threat.
“The biggest imminent threat is just outsourcing thinking.”
She refers to AI as a danger that is hard to control, highlighting the risks involved in exposing children to it at a young age. Grimes questioned the ethics of this exposure by saying:
“I'm tired of experimenting on kids you know, smoking, MacDonalds and now we're gonna do it with this?”
While the mother of three believes AI poses deadly risks to children, she also looks forward to the future of superintelligence with some apprehension:
“In some ways I can't wait for superintelligence - in some ways I can't wait. It's not as easy since I've had kids.”
Grimes voices deep concern over AI's influence on children, warning against its unregulated use while acknowledging its powerful future potential.
