Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese football star and former Real Madrid legend, has once again voiced strong criticism of France’s Ligue 1. In a recent interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo expressed his view that the French championship revolves solely around PSG.
"The Saudi Pro League is much better than the Portuguese league and Ligue 1, where there’s only PSG. For me, it’s easier to score in La Liga than in the Saudi Pro League," he said.
He added a pointed remark about the challenges of the Saudi Pro League, which some critics have not experienced. Ronaldo said:
"They can say whatever they want, but the numbers don’t lie. They’ve never played in the Saudi Pro League. They don’t know what it’s like to run under 40°C heat. Just look at the number of top-level players we have in the league. If I were playing right now for a big Premier League team, I’d still be scoring just as many goals."
Cristiano Ronaldo continues to challenge the common perception of Ligue 1's competitiveness, highlighting the dominance of PSG and praising the Saudi Pro League’s intensity and quality.
Ronaldo asserts Ligue 1’s lack of competition beyond PSG, praising Saudi Pro League’s challenges and maintaining confidence in his scoring ability in top leagues.
