Jalen Duren Leads Pistons to Victory Over Mavericks in Mexico City

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Jalen Duren scored a career-high 33 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Cade Cunningham contributed 21 points and a career-best 18 assists. The Detroit Pistons secured a 122-110 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night in Mexico City.

Duncan Robinson added 18 points and Ausar Thompson contributed 15 for the Pistons, who extended their winning streak to two games.

“I just wanted to get the win, coach had a great game plan and my teammates found me and the rest is history,” said Duren.
“It is cool, super cool, the coaching staff put me in great position, and my teammates helped me, to do it out here was cool,” said Cunningham. “The win is important, we are continuing to grow and it is important to represent the Pistons organization, we wanted to make sure to handle our business.”

The Mavericks’ D’Angelo Russell came off the bench to score 31 points. First overall pick Cooper Flagg posted a season-high 16 points despite shooting 3-for-14. Dallas led 93-87 after three quarters but was outscored 35-17 in the fourth quarter.

Dallas played without forward Anthony Davis, who is expected to miss two games due to a left leg injury sustained Wednesday against Indiana.
