Eight North East postcodes, including one in County Durham, have won thousands of pounds in the postcode lottery during the past week (November 1–7). Residents in Consett, Saltburn, and Middlesbrough were among those selected for £1,000 prizes.
The People’s Postcode Lottery is a subscription-based lottery designed to support charities while offering cash prizes to homes throughout the UK. Daily prizes are awarded to postcodes across the country, with £30,000 jackpots available for every winning ticket in a postcode on weekends and £1,000 prizes for 20 different postcodes each weekday.
At least 33% of every ticket sold goes to charity. Since 2005, players have raised over £950 million for more than 9,000 charities and good causes.
