Tyrese Maxey scored 31 points, Joel Embiid added 29, and Trendon Watford achieved his first career triple-double as the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Toronto Raptors 130–120 on Saturday, ending Toronto’s four-game winning streak.
Watford contributed 20 points, a career-high 17 rebounds, and 10 assists in his first start of the season. The victory also halted Philadelphia’s own two-game losing skid.
Toronto started strong, making 10 of its first 12 shots from long range. However, their accuracy dropped sharply to 23.1 percent (6 of 26) from three-point distance for the remainder of the game.
The Raptors cut the deficit to 119–116 on a three-pointer by Barrett with 3:25 left. But Embiid’s tip-in capped a 6–0 run, giving the Sixers a 125–116 edge with under two minutes remaining. Maxey then closed the game with a deep jumper to secure the win.
