Tiger Woods is often hailed as the greatest golfer ever, yet British golf legend Luke Donald considers Rory McIlroy the most naturally gifted player he has encountered on the PGA Tour, even beyond Woods.
Although Tiger Woods frequently tops discussions as golf's G.O.A.T., Donald believes the debate remains open. Having joined the PGA Tour in 2002, Donald regularly faced Woods during his peak, witnessing firsthand the dominance of the 15-time major champion who claimed numerous titles in the early 2000s.
McIlroy, now 36, turned professional in 2007 and quickly made a significant impact. The former prodigy, who later partnered with Woods to found Tomorrow's Golf League (TGL), impressed Donald both on and off the course.
"I've always said that of the guys I've played with out here on Tour, Rory has the most talent," Donald said in 2011 before the DP World Tour Championship. "He's young, he's got a great future ahead of him, and I see him winning lots of tournaments and lots of majors."
Donald’s endorsement highlights McIlroy’s extraordinary skill and bright prospects within professional golf.
