Ferriday High School capped its regular season with a commanding 46-6 victory against Rayville High School in an LHSAA District 2-2A game last Friday night. The game took place at Dee Faircloth Viking Stadium at Vidalia High School, where Ferriday was designated as the home team.
The Trojans honored 10 seniors before kickoff, making the night special as they showcased a strong team performance throughout the game.
Ferriday quickly asserted control on both offense and defense. Assistant coach DeVante Scott commended the effort:
“Bunch of players played real good. Bunch of seniors stepped up on Senior Night.”
Both of Ferriday's quarterbacks saw playing time. Dorian Taylor, the season's starting quarterback, played in the first half, throwing two touchdown passes. Jase Harris took over in the second half and threw one touchdown pass. Scott noted the balanced offense:
“That allowed us to throw the ball. Zylon Alexander did a good job running the ball. The offensive line did a good job blocking. It was a total team effort.”
All 10 seniors contributed throughout the game, showing the depth and commitment of the team. With this game, Rayville’s record dropped to 5-5 overall and 2-5 in district play. Ferriday finished the regular season strong with a 7-3 overall record and 4-3 in district competition.
