Jetstar is expanding its Adelaide service by relaunching flights to Melbourne Avalon Airport, offering promotional one-way fares starting at $29. Flights will resume on 26 March 2026, providing South Australian travellers with an affordable and convenient option to reach Victoria.
The low-cost carrier plans up to seven weekly return flights, creating approximately 109,000 new budget seats annually. This route reconnects South Australia with Victoria’s Surf Coast, Bellarine Peninsula, and Geelong regions. The service, last operated before the pandemic, will use Jetstar’s Airbus A320 aircraft.
To celebrate the restart, Jetstar is launching a limited-time sale starting from 11:30am (ACDT) today, matching launch prices from over 20 years ago. These highly discounted fares are expected to sell out quickly.
“These new flights to Melbourne Avalon Airport provide South Australians with greater opportunities to take advantage of our low fares and are part of a significant increase in flights in and out of Adelaide this year,” said Jetstar CEO Stephanie Tully.
“It’s now easier and more affordable than ever to access Victoria’s popular Surf Coast, Bellarine Peninsula wine region, Geelong and Melbourne.”
Summary: Jetstar’s return to the Adelaide-Melbourne Avalon route introduces affordable fares, boosting travel options for South Australians to popular Victorian destinations.
