The National Citizen Party (NCP) has issued a show-cause notice to its South Region organiser Ariful Islam Talukder amid allegations of breaching party discipline. Following the notice, Ariful resigned from all his positions before the party could take further action.
According to an official statement from the NCP, Ariful was temporarily relieved of all organisational duties pending an internal investigation. Party leadership claimed that his activities and statements were inconsistent with the party’s code of conduct.
A senior NCP official noted:
"The decision was made after reviewing repeated complaints about indiscipline and non-compliance with organisational directives."
Shortly after the notice was served, Ariful announced his resignation. In a brief note addressed to the party’s central committee, he stated that he was leaving his post voluntarily and wished the party continued success. No additional remarks were made regarding the allegations.
The NCP confirmed that the disciplinary committee will proceed with its inquiry to maintain organisational integrity. The position of South Region organiser will remain vacant until a suitable replacement is appointed.
"The party stands firm on enforcing discipline and transparency across all levels," said an NCP spokesperson.
