Airport Delays Due to Government Shutdown
Some airports are experiencing three-hour lines and shutdown-related delays due to the increasing number of absences among air traffic controllers and TSA screeners.
These employees, along with around 600,000 federal employees, are being asked to work without pay, leading some to call out as they seek alternative ways to make ends meet.
The Federal Aviation Administration said the number of callouts surged over the weekend and “strained staffing levels at multiple facilities,”
This has resulted in operational pressures on key agencies, causing widespread impacts across the national airspace system.
