Daniel Swain to Discuss Extreme Weather Events

Climate scientist Daniel Swain will be a guest speaker for Distinctive Voices, a series of scientific public lectures presented by the National Academy of Sciences.

He will discuss Climate Change Through the Lens of Increasing Hydroclimate Whiplash on November 5 at the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Center in Irvine.

The past decade has seen exceptional warmth, both in California and globally, with pronounced dry and wet extremes.

Swain studies the dynamics and impacts of extreme events, including droughts, floods, storms, and wildfires.

The talk is free and open to the public.
