StudioTamat, based in Rome, has revitalized a small house in the heart of the Italian capital using color, transparency, and reflection to create a sense of spaciousness.
Located in the courtyard of a late 19th-century building on Viale di Trastevere, the 80-square-meter RA House serves as an urban base for a couple who split their time between addresses.
"It was about amplifying spatial dynamism while keeping a coherent language throughout,"
said architect Matteo Soddu. The original use of the space remains unclear, with rumors suggesting it was once a home for the train station caretaker and an office for a local doctor.
