Royal Mail has introduced new, futuristic post boxes in Hampshire as part of a major redesign.
The new post boxes, featuring solar panels and a barcode scanner, allow customers to deposit small and large parcels.
The design includes solar panels at the top of the boxes which activate the parcel drawer, allowing customers to deposit small parcels, as well as a barcode scanner which opens a drop-down drawer to accommodate bigger parcels.
The redesign aims to help Royal Mail keep up with growing competition and demand in the delivery sector, after the firm was fined millions for not meeting delivery targets.
