Billboard bid thrown out after it was deemed 'oversized and intrusive'

Billboard Bid Rejected by Council

A bid to install a billboard in Lowestoft has been rejected by East Suffolk Council due to its size and intrusive nature.

Christopher Arlow submitted proposals for a non-illuminated billboard at the roundabout by the Gull Wing Bridge and A12.

The proposed billboard would appear oversized, visually intrusive and disproportionately large, and thus detract from the character of the area.

The council's case officer rejected the bid under delegated powers, citing the billboard's potential impact on the area's character.

The proposed board was intended to replace a smaller existing one on land adjacent to Durban Road.

Author's summary: Billboard bid rejected due to size.
