Plane Crash Kills One in Milton

One person died, and another was seriously injured when a plane crashed into a driveway in Milton. The pilot, Frederick Barber, 58, from Port Charlotte, Florida, was killed on impact. The passenger, Alexander Hoff, 39, from Hollis, New Hampshire, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Albany Medical Center.

Details of the Incident

The crash occurred on Wyndham Way in a residential area at 10:24 a.m. on November 6, 2025. Responders included nine fire departments, three police agencies, Community EMS, Saratoga County Office of Emergency Management, and the Saratoga County Hazardous Material Team.

Official Statement

"The plane is believed to have hit a tree and then dropped into the driveway of a residence. Although it was first reported as a structure fire with entrapment, the fire was limited to outside the home, and the house was not damaged," said Saratoga County Sheriff Mike Zurlo.

The home was occupied at the time, but the residents were unharmed and safely evacuated.

Aircraft Information

The aircraft was a Mooney M20E, a fixed-wing single-engine plane originally manufactured in 1964, according to FAA Aircraft Registration records.
