Remembrance Sunday - We Will Remember Them

Remembrance Sunday - We Will Remember Them

They shall not grow old, as we who are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.

Message from Angus Provost Craig Fotheringham

This Remembrance Sunday, 9 November, services and parades will be held across Angus, including the laying of wreaths to honor all who gave their lives defending our freedoms.

If you have not yet planned to attend and are able, I encourage you to join your community at one of these important events to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

If you cannot attend, I ask you to take a moment during the day to quietly reflect, alone or with family and friends, and remember the fallen.

Armistice Day Observance

Tuesday, 11 November, marks Armistice Day, another chance to pay respects. At 11 a.m., whether at home or work, if possible, pause for two minutes of silence to honor the bravery and selflessness of our Armed Services.

We must and will remember them.

I also want to thank the service men and women currently serving near and far. As they protect us, we will support them.

Recent years have been marked by uncertain times, with the harsh realities of war conveyed through diverse media.

Author's summary: This message calls for communal and personal reflection on Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day, honoring the sacrifices of service members past and present.
