Remembrance Day Events in Brampton and What’s Open or Closed on November 11
The City of Brampton will mark Remembrance Day on November 11 with two key events: a parade and a remembrance ceremony to honour Canada’s veterans.
Event Schedule
- Parade and Ceremony: Begins at 10:30 a.m. at Ken Whillans Square, outside Brampton City Hall (2 Wellington St. W.), where the Brampton Cenotaph stands.
- Sunrise Service: Takes place at 7:55 a.m. at Meadowvale Cemetery Church (7732 Mavis Rd.).
Additional Observances
The city is also recognizing two other important commemorations:
- Black Veterans Day: November 7
- Indigenous Veterans Day: November 8
Open and Closed on November 11
- Canada Post offices, passport services, Service Canada locations, and most banks will be closed.
- Beer Stores and LCBO outlets will open with adjusted hours — Brampton stores will open at noon in respect of Remembrance Day.
- City Hall and selected city facilities will be closed.
- All parks and recreation centres remain open on regular schedules.
- All Brampton Library branches will be closed.
Brampton Transit Information
Brampton Transit will follow its regular weekday service. Veterans displaying medals, berets, uniforms, blazers, War Veteran Passes, or service papers will be able to ride free all day.
