Antonio Brown has been extradited from Dubai to the United States and arrested in connection with a Miami shooting incident, according to the Miami Herald. Miami Police spokesperson Mike Vega confirmed the apprehension of the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers star.
“Miami Police confirm that U.S. Marshals have apprehended Antonio Brown and that he has been extradited to the US. No date has been set for his transfer to Miami-Dade County,” Vega said, as reported by NBC News.
Brown was wanted for several months in relation to a shooting that occurred on May 16 outside an amateur boxing event in Miami's Little Haiti neighborhood. Videos from the scene showed the former NFL player involved in a confrontation when gunshots were fired.
At the time, Antonio Brown was briefly detained but was released without charges. However, a warrant for his arrest was issued in June. He was given a chance to surrender with a $10,000 bond and house arrest conditions but failed to comply.
His trial is expected to begin soon, and he faces potential murder charges.
Last week, the 37-year-old posted a sponsored video on Instagram promoting the online betting platform BC Game. In the video, Brown was seen driving a black Lamborghini and displaying a carefree demeanor.
Summary: Antonio Brown’s return to the U.S. marks a critical point in the legal case against him, as he faces serious charges related to a Miami shooting incident from May 2025.
