Jeff Driskel is joining the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad as the team adjusts its quarterback roster following Kyler Murray's move to injured reserve.
The Cardinals officially announced Driskel's addition on Thursday. Jacoby Brissett will be the starting quarterback for at least the next four games, while Driskel provides an experienced depth option. Backup Kedon Slovis currently only has preseason experience since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent last season.
Driskel is familiar with the Cardinals' offense, having spent time in 2023 as both a backup and practice squad member. He recently worked out for Arizona on October 29th, along with quarterbacks Kyle Trask and Logan Woodside.
The 32-year-old began his NFL career as a sixth-round draft pick in 2016. He has appeared in 25 games, including 12 starts, across multiple teams: San Francisco, Cincinnati, Detroit, Denver, Houston, Arizona, Cleveland, Washington, and Las Vegas.
Driskel last started at the end of the 2023 season for the Cleveland Browns. In that game, he completed 50% of his passes for 166 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
