Prince Harry has issued an apology to Canada after wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers cap during a World Series baseball game between the Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan, attended the game last Tuesday. Toronto eventually lost to Los Angeles in a decisive seventh game on Sunday.
"Firstly, I would like to apologise to Canada for wearing it," Prince Harry said. "Secondly, I was under duress. There wasn't much choice."
"When you're missing a lot of hair on top, and you're sitting under floodlights, you'll take any hat that's available," he joked to Canadian broadcaster CTV.
He added that wearing the Dodgers cap felt like "the polite thing to do" after being invited to the team's dugout by the owner.
Despite this, he affirmed his support for the Blue Jays during the critical games:
"Game five, game six, game seven, I was Blue Jays throughout. Now that I've admitted that, it's going to be pretty hard for me to return back to Los Angeles."
Prince Harry humorously apologized for wearing Dodgers merchandise, explaining it was due to limited options and respect for the host team during the World Series game in Toronto.
